Dr. Elliot Kupferberg
Played by Peter Bogdonavich
"I'm concerned that treating a mobster provides you some vicarious thrill."
Dr. Elliot Kupferberg is a nice, middle-aged man. He drives a BMW, carries a bottle of water everywhere he goes and has a good relationship with his daughter Saskia, a Columbia University student. He's also Jennifer Melfi's therapist, the man who has helped her deal with the stress of treating Tony Soprano. Dr. Kupferberg has tried to help Dr. Melfi discover the reasons she's drawn to — perhaps even obsessed with — Tony, and has repeatedly counseled her to stop seeing him.
